LICANCABUR - Sara Guerrero Book

In March 2022, Sara Guerrero traveled to Chile. "What was meant to be a shared trip became an unexpected and solitary journey. I found myself in the desert alone in the vast expanse of an extinct salt lake. In that remoteness, there was something that accompanied me, a constant figure on the horizon: the Licancabur volcano. A silhouette, firm and serene - an observer that asked to be observed, listened to - an ancestral presence that embraced my own existence, a companionship."

Captured on film and through a materiality that balances rawness and the ephemeral, this series is an offering to what lies beneath the surface - to what is unseen but sustains. To nature’s quiet persistence, the rhythm of volcanoes, celestial movements, and geological time. An ode to the kind of solitude that doesn’t isolate, but opens spaces to listen, to grow, and to comprehend the self beyond the self.
